About me

Hello!

I’m Lisa (she/her), a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) and the founder of 4 Seasons Counselling.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been known as "the helper. " Regardless of where I was, I was the one who made space for people, listened and supported where I could. Ultimately, this led me to the counselling profession. Though my path getting here hasn't been straightforward (when is it ever?!), I'm here now, and I'm glad you are too.

As a second-generation racialized minority, I bring lived understanding of how family history, culture, and intergenerational experiences can quietly shape how we move through the world. Many people carry expectations, responsibilities, or survival patterns that didn’t begin with them — and may not always have words. This awareness informs my work enabling me to provide care that is culturally responsive, attuned, and respectful of the wider context of your life.

I bring over four years of counselling experience, having worked across a range of community and government agencies. This background has shaped a grounded, compassionate approach and a deep respect for the complexity of people’s lived experiences. I’m a trauma-informed counsellor who believes healing happens in spaces where we feel safe enough to slow down, listen, and be met with care. I specialize in working with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, and chronic stress, but also have experience supporting people struggling with depression, low mood, emotional dysregulation, burnout, grief and loss, life transitions, self-esteem, relationship/family conflict, and personal self-growth.

Some facts about me:

  • I'm not much of a coffee drinker but really enjoy matcha and Jagasilk makes the best matcha in Victoria!

  • I love experimenting in the kitchen and trying new recipes. Tiramisu and carrot cake are my favourite things to bake right now!

  • My favourite types of books are thrillers especially anything by Freida McFadden, Lisa Jewell or Ruth Ware. I’m trying to read 20 books this year and I’m on book #10 now!

  • If I wasn't a counsellor, I think I would be an event planner. There’s something so special about bringing people together and sharing memories.

  • Outside of sessions, you can find me running, cycling, hiking, camping, paddling, downhill skiing, and going to HIIT classes (but not all at once).

If you are interested in connecting to see if we might be a good fit, I invite you to book a free 15-minute consultation.
